Oldway Art Center is an art community that offers classes
and workshops, studio space for artists, and provides educational
field trips for schools and organizations. Oldway is also the
home of Glassworks Gallery, our large and absolutely unique art
gallery.
Oldway is located, in Sperryville, Va., 70 Miles West of Washington
D.C.
Oldway Art Center, founded by glassblower
Eric Kvarnes, is located on the site of the former 26 acre Sperryville
truck junkyard . After years of clean up, remodeling of original
buildings, and the addition of 3 new buildings, Oldway is a work
in progress, and continues to expand.
Oldway also offers art studio rental
space for local artists. Our spaces occasionally open up for new
artists, but generally all are occupied. (We have 7 rental spaces
-Call for info and availability)
We also host events and concerts on the Oldway grounds. -Call

Glassworks Gallery -the first thing you see when you arrive, is
our retail outlet for local artwork.
We carry mostly local artwork, with some from outside our community,
but our most important concern is quality and innovation. Our
products are very high quality, but our prices are far below what
you'd pay in a metropolitan gallery. Our artists average 25+ years
at their disciplines. The work is unusual and unique.
Our online web store carries some of the work we sell, but nothing
can compare to seeing it in person.
Glass Blowing Classes are Now Being Offered !
We offer Glassblowing
Classes!
Traditional Blowpipe style Glassblowing is the most exciting form
of hot glasswork there is. Our classes are limited to 2 students,
are held one at a time so there's no commitment for future classes,
and are taught by an instructor with 36 years of experience and
a degree in education.
The classes are fun, reasonably priced, something you'll never
forget, and the glass you make will be a treasure forever. With
guidance from our instructor, most students successfully complete
2 pieces of glass in their first class.
Oldway is located 70 miles West
of Washington DC, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains
adjacent to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive.
